About Me

Welcome to the Shiloh Springs Golf Club blog. I am starting this as an information center for golfers interested in keeping up with everything that is Shiloh. The plan as of now is to update this blog once a week (on Mondays) with information about events, golf course maintenance updates, game improvment tips, food and beverage news and general thoughts from an aging golf professional. I hope this site will be entertaining as well as informational. It will include pictures and the whole works. As you follow this blog please don't be shy in sharing your thoughts with me the next time we meet. Until then.... Think Golf, Brian Silcott, PGA Golf Professional Shiloh Springs Golf Club

Driving Range Update

Last week (Tuesday, July 7) the sod was laided on the Warm Up Range hitting area. After reshaping and installing some drains, Mike's crew put down the new zoysia sod on the range. It looks great and should be ready to hit off of sometime in the next couple of weeks. This week they will be laying sod in the surrounding areas around the range. When all the work is complete and the grass is grown in the range will be the best it has ever been. Along with this work the area in front of 17 green has been reshaped and drains installed. This area has also been sodded and it is a very nice upgrade to the hole. If all goes according to plan we will have a wonderful and playable approach area in front of 17 green.

A nice by product of this work is that we had extra sod left over. Mike and his boys have been using the extra sod to repair the damaged areas in 17 fairway. What once was one of our weaker fairways will now be one of our better fairways.

The crew is also upgrading each holes area around the tee box that has the ball washer and tee sign. The are repositioning some signs and ball washers and putting down mulch to each area. The look is very appealling and has a nice visual effect.

As always we are committed at Shiloh to continually upgrading our facility.
